SNOW 2019

SNOW
In April 2019 Sena helped organize a congress about avalanches in Siglufjörður.
The Project

Around 130 guests attended the “International Symposium on Mitigation Measures against Snow Avalanches and other Rapid Gravity Mass Flows” from 13 countries and the event took places over two days. The congress was held by Association of Chartered Engineers in Iceland (VFÍ). The schedule was packed with insightful talks, fun events in an unmatched environment. Organization was aimed at facilitating the sharing of ideas between participants both formally and informally.

The Challenge

Meetings were held in the Blue houses and guests stayed at the wonderful Hótel Siglufjörður where there was also a welcome reception. Coffee, lunch and the final dinner were held at Rauðka. On the third day guests were offered to go on a trip to look at the defense barriers for avalanches in the mountains.

Sena handled project management, communication with the committee, participants, hotel, catering, transportation, printing of materials, financial planning and presence at Siglufjörður.
